Strikeforce News: Babalu to fight Lawler

According to Sherdog.com, Renato “Babalu” Sobral is set to face Robbie Lawler at Strikeforce: Los Angeles in a 195-pound catchweight fight. Lawler was expected to face Jason “Mayhem” Miller but Strikeforce CEO expects Miller to be suspended by the Tennessee Athletic Commission for his part in the brawl at the Strikeforce: Nashville event. Babalu was scheduled to take part in the DREAM Light Heavyweight Grand Prix but the tournament was cancelled yesterday.

Strikeforce: Los Angeles airs on Showtime live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, CA and takes place on June 16. Bobby Lashely and KJ Noons are also expected for the event.

Quick Hit: Lawler has been mum on his Strikeforce future as of late. Many are thinking, me included, that he’s about to jump ship back to the UFC. If he hopes to do that then he better win this fight. Too bad about that DREAM tournament. I was really looking forward to that.
