This guy does what most don’t have the stones to do

An unidentified Phillies fan argues with New York Daily News writer Kevin Deutsch, right, at Citzens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Friday April 30, 2010, during the Philles - Mets game. (For the New York Daily News/ Joseph Kaczmarek)
Despite boos, curses, taunts and threats, Deutsch repeatedly chanted, “Let’s Go Mets!” With the Mets in first place, Deutsch didn’t pass on the opportunity to rub it in the annoyed Phillies fans.
It got me thinking if I could go into a hated rival’s stadium and be as obnoxious as possible. I’m not sure. But I definitely don’t think I’d be stomping around Philly mocking their teams. They’re the most infamous fans around. I might need to start with Tampa Bay or something a little less daunting.
Check out this excerpt from the story:
What made things worse? The Mets won with a 9-1 blowout, and Phillies fans were not happy as Deutsch started chanting, “First place Mets!”
“At the ballpark, fans only got meaner. They screamed. They cursed. They called my mother’s reputation into question. ‘Go back to New York before we send you back in a trunk,’ shouted Leon Fratelli, 29, a Phillies diehard who grimaced at the sight of my orange and blue get-up. ‘You can get hurt here doin’ a Mets chant.’”
Even with the fans getting more aggressive, Deutsch didn’t relent.
‘These New Yorkers never shut up!’ Fratelli whined. When a Phillies security guard wearing a Phillies World Series Ring took a half swing at me mid-Mets chant, I knew this was truly hostile territory.
‘I’m not protecting you as long as you have that jersey on,’ he said. Once I took my seat, Phils fans seemed to lose their mojo as the Mets piled on run after run.”
