5. 1996, Bjarne Riis’ Tour De France victory*. Riis, a Danish bicyclist admitted taking performance-enhancing drugs prior to his victory. He could not be punished for his doping due to a 10-year statute of limitations. Bjarne is now a team owner and manager of Danish UCI Pro tour team Saxo Bank.

4. 2008, Olympics Women gymnastics competition* = Records found, have shown the Chinese government committed forgery. He Kexin born 1994, making her 14 would not be eligible to compete. According to online sports registration lists in China, over half the team — He Kexin, Yang Yilin, Jiang Yuyuan, Deng Linlin — would be under age. Being one of the most popular sports in the Olympics this was huge.

3. 1972, USSR Basketball Gold Medal* = A very shady game and I think we all saw the HBO special. A game marred in the last seconds with bad officiating, gave the Soviets time they should not have had to make a last second shot to win the gold medal. US protested the win to no avail and has yet to accept their silver medals.

2. 2001, Michael Strahans sack record* = 34-25, 3 minutes on the clock and Favre changes the play to a pass in the huddle? This was one of the most elusive records and the way it was achieved was shameful. Favre bootlegged and fell down before contact, assuring Strahan the record.  Not to take anything away from Strahan, but I’m not sure this record gets broken without Favre’s help.

1. 2007, Barry Bonds home run record* = the most coveted record in all of sports broken by a known cheater. Barry Bonds broke Hammering Hank Aarons record set in 1976 amidst the whole BALCO fiasco in which his trainer was indicted by a federal grand jury and charged with supplying anabolic steroids to athletes, including a number of baseball players.
