All-Star Race Results

Brian Vickers is out the rest of the year because of the bloods clots that I talked about last post… Wish him the best of luck to a fast recovery.  Brian Vickers didn’t deserve this to happen to him.

Kurt Busch won the All-Star race, which comes with a $1,000,000 prize as well.

His brother, Kyle Busch, was not happy after the race. With eight laps remaining Denny Hamlin blocked Kyle Busch, which drove him into the wall. A couple of laps later, Kyle Busch slammed into the wall with a right tire down, and he also took out Kasey Kahne in the accident. That moved Kurt Busch all the way up to the lead and be able to win the race and $1,000,000.

Kyle Busch was so angry at Denny Hamlin for his racing move in which he blocked Kyle Busch from passing him, Busch came on the radio and threatened to kill Hamlin. I assume a fine should be coming for those comments.

“My game plan was to make big, bold moves,” Kurt Busch said. “I had Jimmie Johnson in the middle of the racetrack. I was digging underneath him. I saw some paint and sparks fly off Turn 2 when Kyle brushed the fence with Hamlin. I don’t know what happened there, but it hurt both their momentum. Big bold moves is what I was going to go for. It paid off.”

That’s what Kurt Busch said of Jimmie Johnson when he passed them after Hamlin made the block on Kyle Busch. Johnson dominated the race, leading 56 of 100 laps. He ended up finishing thirteenth after spinning through the infield grass when he lost control of his vehicle.

“Knew I had to clear the No. 11 on the outside of me, so I just kept my foot in it,” Johnson said. “I could feel them outside of me kind of pulling the back end of my car around, but I said ‘The hell with it. It’s the All-Star Race.’ Kept my foot to the floor and hoped that I made it off the turn and I didn’t. It turned around on me.”

Martin Truex Jr came up to finish second. Joey Logano finished in third, Denny Hamlin finished in fourth place and Tony Stewart finished in fifth.

Next race will be May 30th at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The race will be shown on FOX at 5:45 pm ET on Sunday.
