UFC News: UFC on Versus 2 official

According to a report from MMA Junkie, the UFC has officially announced that the UFC on Versus 2 event will take place on August 1st from the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City. Jon Jones (10-1) vs. Vladimir Matyushenko (24-4) will be the main event for the show, and Mark Munoz (8-1) vs. Yushin Okami (24-5) will co-headline. Tickets are set to go on sale for UFC Fight Club members on May 26th, on May 27th for UFC.com newsletter subscribers, and May 28th for the general public. The following bouts are expected:

MAIN CARD
- Jon Jones vs. Vladimir Matyushenko
- Mark Munoz vs. Yushin Okami
- Jim Miller vs. Gleison Tibau
- Takanori Gomi vs. Joe Stevenson

PRELIMINARY CARD
- Jake Ellenberger vs. John Howard
- James Irvin vs. Igor Pokrajac
- Mike Massenzio vs. Brian Stann
- DaMarques Johnson vs. Matthew Riddle
- Rob Kimmons vs. Steve Steinbeiss

Quick Hit: This card is shaping up to be just as good as the first UFC on Versus card. August 1 is a Sunday so make the appropriate adjustments to your schedules. The main event should be over quickly. Jones really hasn’t lost (DQ against Hamil) and he’s won viscously every fight.
