Boston ties up NBA Finals with big win in L.A.
The Celtics took game 2 tonight in L.A.; rolling past the Lakers 103-94 and evening up the NBA finals. Ray Allen hit a finals record 8 consecutive three-pointers and finished with a team-high 32 points. Point Guard Rajon Rondo contributed to the win with a triple double. Kobe Bryant shot 8 of 20 for the Lakers with a total of 21 points.
The Celtics maintained an early lead and carried it into the second half, but lost it as the game progressed. The two teams traded the lead during the fourth quarter, however the Celtics gained it back for good after an impressive Rondo layup with 3:21 left in the game.
The next three games will be played in Boston, where the Celtics will have the home-court advantage. I would normally say it’s much too early for the Lakers to be worried, but if the Celtics start heating up at home, they could feasibly end the series before the Lakers get another chance to play before their home crowd. More than likely, however, this will be a memorable series that should go down to the wire.
Game three will take place Tuesday at 9pm Eastern time on ABC.
