Ochocinco’s coming to your cereal aisle
From the same company that brought you “Flutie Flakes,” Chad Ochocinco will be getting his own brand of cereal.
Pittsburgh-based PLB Sports and Ochocinco have teamed up to bring everyone the Ochocinco’s. The cereal, which will retail at $3, will be sold at Kroger’s in the Cincinnati area, along with the PLB Sports website beginning Sept. 7.
According to CNBC, Ty Ballou, president of PLB Sports, said that a successful run would be to sell 100,000 boxes, but if the Bengals make it to the Super Bowl, he could imagine hitting the 1 million mark.
The Flutie Flakes sold 3 million, and Ballou, whose company also sold Ben Roethlisberger’s “Big Ben Beef Jerky,” thinks Ochocinco could do some serious sales.
“When we sold Flutie Flakes, that was before Twitter and Facebook,” Ballou said. “It’s a different world out there now.”
Maybe he can get some advice from Terrell Owens, who also had his own cereal line through PLB Sports. Last year, the TO’s sold 63,000 boxes in the Buffalo area.

HA! This is cool though. He has always been a character. He usually gets press for his on field antics. Its cool to see him growing a brand.
The NFL needs more notable superstars.
