Last Night’s Picks:

Tim – ….

John – Kevin Durant – 36 P1P

Tim:

To be honest, I completely forgot about making my choice yesterday. My girlfriend gave me tickets to the Ravens/Saints game for Christmas, and I completely forgot about making my choice ahead of time. I usually don’t make picks until the day of. I usually don’t even make my choice until I get down to typing the “Picks for Tonight” section.

John:

Kevin Durant’s 36 P1P is his average, so I can’t say I’m really happy about the performance. I picked Durant against the Suns in hopes of him getting 40+ P1P’s and salvaging what had been a rather disappointing week of pick one. But, 36 is still a solid night and I guess I can’t be too upset.

NBA.com’s Expert Pick for Tonight – Tim Duncan – Spurs

“Possibly the best rivalry in this sport in recent memory is the one between the Phoenix Suns and the San Antonio Spurs. With that type of atmosphere surrounding it, tonight’s game will provide a great environment for Tim Duncan to thrive. When they met early on this season, the Big Fundamental had what was his best game so far, until the one at Denver last week. On that November night, Timmy posted 44 PRAs, behind 25 baskets and 17 rebounds. Both of those are well above his norms of 13.9 and 9.5, respectively. Against what most would consider a better Phoenix team of a season ago, he posted a 35.6 PRA average over three games; again, well above his normal numbers. It has yet to be seen how the new pieces added by the Suns over the weekend will fit in, but there is something about this match-up that brings out the best in Timmy each time they meet.”

Picks for Tonight:

Tim – Blake Griffin

John – Blake Griffin

Tim:

We call this a Win-Win-Win where I come from..

I haven’t been able to pull the trigger on THE Blake Griffin yet this season, and tonight is better than ever. He is playing the Timberwolves who *cough*suck*cough*. And the best part about it is that the Clippers aren’t very good themselves and won’t blow them out. Win-Win! Oh, and Blake’s last non-double-double game was November 18th.

John:

It’s time to break out the big gun. I’ve already picked Blake Griffin once this season and I’m using my unlock bonus tonight to break him out again against the last ranked defense in the NBA, the Minnesota Timberwolves. Blake is averaging 21/12 this season and with his rookie bonus, his average P1P’s a night is 72. I’m hoping for a huge night tonight to start out what I’m hoping to be a great week.
