Last Night’s Picks:
Tim – Tyreke Evans – 32 P1P
John – Tyreke Evans – 32 P1P
Tim:
I’m indifferent on how I should feel after Tyreke’s 32. On one had he played a great game, 15/10/7. However, being that close to a triple-double really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Also, since the game went into OT, more is expected from Evans. The OT was only the difference between 30 and 32 for him. I guess the best way to look at it is that he averages less than 25 P1P per night. Pretty nice pick.
John:
Tyreke Evans struggled to find his shot last night, going just 4/18 from the field. I said I wouldn’t be satisfied with anything under 30 and Tyreke Evans ended up with 32 P1P’s, but I’m still not all that satisfied. It could have been a lot more as Evans had a near triple double of 15/10/7 in the Kings loss.
NBA.com’s Expert Pick for Tonight – David West – Hornets
“Here’s to good health, David West. Earlier this month a stomach virus screwed me and at least a few of you over when it caused West to be ruled inactive right before game-time against the Knicks. Luckily, that DNP didn’t take him off the board, even if that zero was tough to take. So here he is again tonight, against New Jersey. The Nets are getting torched at power forward, giving up 35.6 PRAs to opposing players at the position, which just happens to be where West plays. And plays very well. In fact, he’s playing some of the best ball of his career right now, shooting almost 53% from the field and averaging 27.3 PRAs a game. But even that number is up a couple tenths since I wanted to use him not too long ago, as he continues to help drive this Hornets team. An added bonus is that West is also capable of going over 40, something he’s done five times this year, as recently as a couple of games ago at Detroit. Unless you are fortunate to have many unlocks, there very few mulligans in the game of Pick One. But this is one of those chances, and it shapes up to be a great opportunity to get the most out of David on the second time around.”
Just as a note, I am fairly certain that the DNP rule was not in effect last season. I do believe it was made up the day after he picked David West.
Our Picks for Tonight –
Tim – Paul Millsap
John – Al Jefferson
Tim:
Against the Timberwolves, it is best to pick the opponent’s best all-around player. Since I don’t have Deron Williams anymore, and I do not want to use my bonus to free him, I am going with my second best option – Paul Millsap. I like Millsap’s ability to score over Jefferson’s.
John:
The Timberwolves are a fun team to pick against as they are statistically one of the worst defenses in the NBA. Tonight, they are facing the Utah Jazz and Big Al Jefferson will be making his return to the Target Center , the place he used to call home. Jefferson is having a strong season and is averaging 27 P1P’s a game. He should be able to get 30+ tonight and has gone over his seasonal average in his last two games.
