Eddie Alvarez defeats Pat Curran

Bellator Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez defends his lightweight title against Pat Curran at Bellator 39.

In what was pretty much a one-sided fight, Alvarez out-boxed Curran to a 50-45, 50-45, 49-46 judges decision.

Curran was never really in the fight, but physically, he looked better than he ever has. The only spark of life that Curran had was in the final minute of the final round when he eventually got a takedown and landed a few punches to the downed Alvarez. But that was it and the fighters slugged it out until the bell sounded.

I think it’s time for Alvarez to move on to the big stage.
