Let me be the first to say, over on Fannation, they had a pick’em contest.

Not braggin, just sayin.

From what I read, the live crowd hated on quite a few of the early fights.

Jon Jones looked good, but not great. He tried a bunch of new stuff, but the last 3 rounds seemed a bit much Andersonish to me. Danny showed up on set on the post game and left no doubt he should be next.

Evans is a different matter. He looked good for all of 8 minutes. After that, he was almost in single digits in strikes.

Let me put it this way, you have a guy that “stole” your camp, your title and your spot as top dog. He’s cracked you for 20 minutes and you are about to lose your fight.

You land 3 more strikes than Dana White did in round 5.

Huh? Rashad wasn’t really in survival mode, he wasn’t getting beaten from side to side, he was just moving around. He looked BAD, for someone so angry.

Evans wants a rematch. I’m not looking forward to that. Evans came in all talk and little action.

Dan Henderson at least will go out on his shield. Hendo is going to press as long as he has gas in the tank.
But we’ll wait for it.

For Rashad? I’d like to see a rematch with Lyoto, maybe even Shogun, but I think he’s in that Fitch role- Top 3 at the worst, so you don’t want him knocking off all the contenders, but the first fight went so bad you don’t want to give him a title shot.

I don’t think at his age, Rashad is a threat at 185, even if he did the weight cut effectively. Anderson will give him all the problems Jones did PLUS one-touch KOPOWAH. Rashad will be better served at 205, taking B-level PPV spots, and waiting for either Jones to move to heavyweight or a 235 division.

Rothwell and Browne both looked good, maybe each other might be a good matchup.

II. NFL Draft

I do love the Draft. Zach and I will be bringing you a first round breakdown.

This draft is a primo reason why I don’t do mocks anymore. Every pick from 2 to 7 got moved, and you had 20 trades in round 1.

Teams that shot themselves in the foot would be the Cleveland, Jags, Fins (obviously), Chiefs, Cards, Hawks, and Titans
